Short stories to regain
your faith
Thirikoolur Pennpillai doesn’t seem to stop her explanation. She goes on
with her reasoning of leaving Thirikoolur. Each sentence she says is
admired by Swami Ramanujar. As she finishes each sentence Swami
Ramanujar blesses her with the kind of devotion done by the devotee
mentioned in the sentence. The next sentence she says “Avan Sirien
endruno azhwaar polle” (Did I ever say that the Supreme
Lord is petite one”
Here in the above sentence, Thirikoolur Pennpillai
refers the pasuram of Namazhwaar, where He, Quotes the Supreme Lord as a
small person. It takes lot of bravery to call the Supreme Lord the
‘small one’. It is more difficult to do so when one has realized the
real and strength of the Supreme Lord.
Namazhwaar is the foremost of all Azhwaar. He had
spent his first sixteen years of his life on mediating upon the Bagwaan.
The sixteen years of mediation was without any break. Namazhwaar’s
devotion was of such high degree that Bagwaan from each Dhiyaa Desam
(divine place) used to personally visit Namazhwaar and request him to
write a pasuram about them.
It is only due the Bagwaan that this universe is
functioning. He is omnipresent. He dwells in each and every soul and
even inside the nonliving things. He knows the history of each our
Janmas (birth). He is above all. He is beyond what we our sensory organs
can recognize. His love is abundant. Words fall short in describing his
virtues.
When a
normal person reads the above description of the Supreme One, it would
appear as description of another super hero character. But truly
realizing those qualities of the Supreme One is different game
altogether.
Namazhwaar was one such who had experienced the
Supreme One inch by inch. Such a person says that Supreme Lord Bagwaan
is a 'small person' Here Namazhwaar refers to the innocence of Bagwaan.
He forgets all the sins which we commit. He does not count the times we
have forgotten him. He yearns for our love. Many a times we take Bagwaan
for granted, but Bagwaan doesnt account for these things and take
revenge on us.
The love of
Namazhwaar for Bagwaan made him say that, Bagwaan
is the small one, even though he is the greatest of all creations. Thirikoolur Pennpillai
regrets about not being close to Bagwaan and for not calling him the
"small one". Lets see next month, who Thirikoolur Pennpillai introduces
as her example of great Bhakta. |
