pundhalika saarika bhakta naahi

pandhari saarika keshtra naahi

vithobha saariak bhakt naahi

tukaram saarika sathguru naahi

In this walk of life, we get tired and our body slowly but surely degrades. But we being unaware of this fact keep on moving towards the end without enjoying the real purpose for which we have been gifted with this birth. We really need some one to make us understand the importance of this sacred life and the correct way to utilize it.

If we don't feel well we normally would visit a doctor and tell some symptoms of our uneasiness, just by hearing few of our symptoms the doctor comes to know our problem and he will he would assure us that nothing is serious its just a normal. Before hearing such verdict from the doctor our mind is never at ease and we think of all possibility outcome of our illness. We get peace of mind when a person having the subject knowledge gives us an assurance.

Same principle can applied to Guru. Even before we explaining our situation, He is there to provide us a solution and give us a confidence that everything in life, is going smooth and we being the child of Bagwaan Krishna, His grace is always with us.

Such was the great Sant Tukaram, as the above verse goes--"Tukaram Saarika Sathguru Naahi" which means there is no Sathguru like Sant Tukaram. A humble devotee of Lord Vittal, has dedicated his life in service of Lord Vittal. As a Sathguru he always guided people towards the path of devotion.

Once two women were disputing over the dry cow dung (used as fuel for domestic purpose) prepared by them. Each one was not letting it go, and claimed the larger number of dry cow dung as theirs. In midst of this dispute Sant Tukaram passed by the place and agreed to sort out the issue. Each dry cow dung he used to keep on his ears and made two separate heaps of dry cow dung.

One heap he said belonged to a lady and other one to another lady. This distribution was acceptable to both of them. Everyone being astonished asked Sant Tukaram as to how he did this. To this Sant Tukaram replied, "The dry cow dung prepared by  one lady emits the Vittal Namajabam, (the holy chant) as she was chanting Vittal's name while making these dry cow dung. This is the power Namajabam and Sathguru who recognized the true devotion .

We should be thankful for being blessed with such a Sathguru in the recent past just 400 years ago.

Short stories to regain your faith

Thirikoolur Pennpillai has till now given 7 statements which she feels justifies her leaving  Thirikoolur. Here she adds another, "Thandai enga endreno Dhrurvan polle" ( Did i ask like Dhruvan,"Where is the Supreme Father")

Dhruvan is epitome of devotion a child can ever perform. A kid at the age of five is usually engrossed in playing and enjoying the love show by his parents.

King Uttanapada had two wives, named Suruchi and Suneethi. Dhruvan was a child of King Uttanapada and Suneethi. Suruchi considered Suneethi and Dhruvan inferior to her and her child. When Dhruvan came to sit on the lap of King Uttanapada, Suruchi pushed him back and said he didn't have right to sit on the King's lap. Only the child born to her  can sit on King's lap.

Dhruva being a Kashtriyaa was not able to control his anger and his heart  was filled with sadness and burst out his emotions in form of tears. Crying, Dhruvan went to his mother Suneethi. He narrated the whole incident to his mother and expressed his desire of sitting on father's lap. A mother will always try to fulfill her child's wishes. However a good mother will always think about the long term benefits a child will receive.

Suneethi as good mother advised Dhruvan not to cry for such petty things and encouraged him to attain the Father of forefathers- all the-the supreme one. Suneethi consoled Dhruvan by saying once he sits on the lap of that Supreme Father he would win the entire world. Being inspired Dhruvan immediately asked, "Where is supreme father, Who is He? How can I see him". To this Suneethi happily replied Bagwaan Vasudevan is only the Supreme one . The one who rules the entire universe. The one who is father of each and every creature, the one takes care in the growth like a father. Suneethi urged Dhruvan to meditate on Bagwaan Vasudevan. Hearing this Dhruvan hurriedly rushed to the forest in search of the Supreme Father.

On his way he met Sage Narada. Sage Narada asked Dhruva," Oh my dear boy where are you going ?". To this Dhruvan narrated the whole incidence and said, "My mother has said Vasudevan is only the supreme father, I am going to find Him, if you know tell me how can i find Him, where will I find Him" Sage Narada tried to distract Him by saying ," Its not so see to find him, people have put in years of severe meditation  to attain Him, its your age to play  and you should not mind your parents scolding  go back to your home. The path of attaining Him is very difficult. Once you have indulged in this way it would be shameful if you won't be successful. So right at the beginning I am warning you to go back."

The furious Dhruvan angrily replied, "If you can't show me the way to attain the Supreme Lord please get away from my way." Being impressed by the dedication of Dhruvan, Sage Narada  did Mantra Upadesh "Om Namo Bagavathe Vasudeva", and described the beauty of Bagwaan Vasudevan. Sincerely mediating on the form explained by Sage Narada and chanting the Mantra, Dhruvan was able to see and attain the Supreme One -Vasudevan in just five months.  The small kid of five years was able to succeed such commendable job just due to Guru's grace and his dedication in chanting.

Quoting this example Thirikoolur Pennpillai says "have I ever searched the supreme Father like Dhruvan. So i dont deserve to stay at Thirikoolur." Dhruvan's story is really inspiring one. When a five year kid can attain Bagwaan in five months why can't we. This is indeed a food for our thoughts.

The power of divine grace

My Pranams to Guruji Amma and Guruji. Guruji’ has been incessant in his efforts to show us the path of bhakthi and true happiness. Krishna Naamasankeertanam and continous sathsangam by Guruji has really infused life into me. Guruji always says that when a person does Naamasankeertanam, he/she actually feels Krishna ’s grace every moment. I am no exception to this.

It happened to me on 1st January 2009 night. Guruji and His disciples (including me) were standing on Matunga (a place in Mumbai) railway station, after Guruji’s Sathsang.. Since our residential locations are different, we had to board different trains. Our train was approaching and I asked my mother to board the Ladies compartment. I could not get into the gents compartment, where I was standing. So I started running, to spot a compartment where I could board. In the process, my cell phone which was placed in my kurta pocket fell down. I heard some sound and was about to board. But to confirm the sound, I looked on the platform. I could see the battery of my cell phone on the platform. I was terrified. The main cell phone body was nowhere to be seen. I didn’t board the train.

The moment the train left the station, I started searching the phone. I could not find it on the platform. Nothing could be seen on the tracks as it was pitch dark. Some of Guruji’s disciples tried to find it, but in vain. Guruji also came to the spot. Just at that moment, some passerby got down onto the railway track and started searching. In two minutes, he got the cell phone foe me. The next big question.. Will the mobile phone function as usual? The battery was inserted and the phone was indeed functioning normally. There was not a single scratch or physical damage. I sincerely feel that this was possible only because of Guruji’s presence.

Although this is a small incident, it has given me a confidence about Krishna ’s constant presence by my side. And nothing is impossible when Krishna is by your side

Radhekrishna.
